2020 is an unforgettable year, a year that will be remembered for many more generations to come. The year mother’s lost their children to Covid-19, the year wives lost their husbands to Covid-19, the year daughters lost their parents and grandparents to Covid-19, the year women lost loved ones to Covid-19. The year nations were fearful, and threatened by death.
Oh what a year!
Your thoughts might be “this is not how I came into 2020? This is not how I envisioned 2020? This year was full of expectations, plans, visions and dreams to be fulfilled. I had my goals laid down for this year: I want to travel, I want to start a new business, I want to switch my carrier, I plan on increasing my family this year, this year is planned for my wedding, I plan to relocate to another city/country, I want to change schools, I want to buy a house, there were so many plans to be achieved…..When suddenly Covid-19 came in like an unexpected visitor: you think it’s just here for a few days, a few days led to weeks, weeks extended to months, still Covid-19 is very much present and the most spoken about pandemic at the moment. Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.(Proverbs 19:21) All activities paralysed, all plans frozen, there is darkness all over the nations. This pandemic shocks nations and threatens lives. Lives were lost, hope was lost, there is standstill of activities all over the world!
But guess what? God is not standstill.
God knows you and is mindful of you. It does not matter what you are going through right now, uncertainty of the present or future. God’s got your back and he already knows the end of Covid-19 before it hit the earth.
God is in control.
You might have lost your loved ones or family members to this deadly disease. But there is hope for you in Christ Jesus, he will help you through your grief and pain. Maybe you are afraid, trust God to help you through your fear.
‘Cast all your anxieties, fears, worries, burdens, plans on God because he cares for you.’(1 Peter 5:7)
‘You are still in God’s plan he is mindful of you.’ (Psalm 8:4-6) Covid-19 is under your feet, declare God’s word over it: “I have dominion over Covid-19”. Believe this and you will have rest, the Bible says: For surely there is an end; and your expectations shall not be cut off (Proverbs 23:18).
Keep hoping, keep your dreams alive
Your goals, aims, visions, and all your plans for 2020 can still be fulfilled, “Even a tree has more hope! If it is cut down, it will sprout again and grow new branches.” (Job 14:7)
Therefore, I urge you not to give up!
2020 is young, keep believing, trust God, and don’t lose hope.
‘And Mary said: “My soul magnifies the Lord, And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.’ (Luke 1:46-47)
Happy mother’s day 2020
